L+ Lactic Acid is the natural form of this multifunctional cosmetic ingredient, produced through the fermentation of corn.  The human body produces, and utilizes, this gentle acid to maintain it's optimal pH balance (Acid Mantle) used in the defense fungus and bacteria.

We include a pipet that measures 3 ml before the bulb. You would use that to draw up .3 ml to 1.5 ml (1% to 5%) per 1 ounce or 30 ml of cream/lotion/cleanser/toner.

You really just stir it in~!

When compared to Glycolic or Citric Acids, Lactic shows greatly reduced irritancy while offering pronounced efficacy in exfoliating and skin rejuvenating formulations. When used at concentrations of 2% or less, Hydroxy-Mild will perform its pH regulating, antimicrobial, and moisture binding functions. When used at concentrations higher than this, Hydroxy-Mild will perform these functions as well as offering:

  • enhanced skin lightening effects
  • improved collagen and elastin synthesis.
  • accelerated exfoliation and cell renewal.
  • removal of the corneocyte or "dead/horny" layer of skin to reveal a fresher, more youthful appearance.

  • Never use manual exfoliators nor scrubbing brushes within 24 hours of using a peel.
  • Stop Retin A, benzoyl peroxides, acne products and any other drying agents 24 hours before and after using an alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy peel.
  • If you are allergic to aspirin products, never use a salicylic acid nor beta hydroxy peel.
  • Never apply a peel without doing a patch-test first and waiting 48 hours for results.
  • Never apply a chemical peel to inflamed skin.

  • Please do your own research, too. I am not an expert in peels. Lactic acid is a great place to start, though. Effective, yet lower risk for burns.
